The portable MF band radio transceiver
FERRA - the first Russian mobile communication system for underground work
FERRA – the first Russian mobile communication system for underground work. Its range has exceeded the world's existing analogues.
It uses a new generation of miniature antennas (point ferromagnetic radiators) and allows voice communication at distances of up to 100 km without lifting and installing fixed antennas, and the most important feature of FERRA is its ability to transmit radio signals through rock.
100 km
on the Earth's surface
5 km
in mine workings, mines and shafts
1 km
in caves and through rock formations
